Re: Storage and utility buildings

It looks like we can maintain a 40' buffer to the wetlands and build a 20' X 48' storage building. it just so happens that we have plans for a building like that with 4 sets of 8' x 8' doors. our woodworking building plans will work just fine in this application.  Might go for trusses as we have a l...

Storage and utility buildings

Goal:  clean up tractor barn by removing 'support' equipment. Provide storage areas for lawn equipment, excess building materials, and golf carts. Currently, golf carts, the zero turn, mowers and construction equipment are necessarily housed in the tractor barn, a building that should be museum only...

1947 Massey Harris row crop tractor

Kevin Darling recently donated a one owner, mostly barn kept tractor that belonged to his grandfather. It is in decent shape and complete.  I hauled it to my shop to get it serviced and running, rather than to the farm.  one rear rim needs to come off and get welded around the valve stem hole and pr...

Re: lawn maintenance equipment shed

We'll have to check into the wording of the under 200 square foot language for Hebron. Otherwise, piers it is. I'd like to use the building for show stakes and twine as well. No

Re: lawn maintenance equipment shed

The thought here is that it is too far to go to get a mower or rake, thus the need for an additional building. We also need a place to serve as a battery charging station, and that can't be in the gas shed. Placing it near the gas shed makes some sense and I'm liking it. A concrete slab on grade mak...

Barn maintenance

Our barn is loosing siding shingles on both gable ends. they NEVER should have been used in this manner as 3 tab shingles will not seal properly. so they flap in the breeze until they break off. George and Ned have patched it a couple of times. We need to cut 1" pine for this job, and either install...

lawn maintenance equipment shed

I'm thinking of building a 12' X 16' shed behind the new engine building. Keeping it under 200 sq feet will allow us to build without needing a permit. It is intended to be a used to store the Z turn, lawn mowers, rakes, leaf blower, etc. and get these items out of the display buildings. Thinking ah...
